2025 Fall Auditions
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6
• 2nd Clarinet (One round)
• Principal Bassoon (Two rounds)
Between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Clarinet 2 auditions will consist of one round.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7
• Principal Trombone (Two rounds)
Between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Principal Trombone and Principal Bassoon auditions will consist of two rounds, a preliminary round and a final round, to take place on the same day. Finalists will be announced in the warm-up room during break times, so those auditioning will know if they need to stay for the final round or if they are free to go.
You will receive your specific audition time by Friday, October 17, 2025.
AUDITION DEPOSIT FEE
To be considered for the audition, you must mail a $25.00 check made payable to Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, P.O. Box 751, Bakersfield, CA 93302.
The check will be returned to you at the time you check in for your audition.

Audition Format
Auditions will be blind and performed behind a curtain. We kindly ask you to be prepared to follow the appropriate etiquette.
You will be performing in front of an audition committee consisting of our music director, Stilian Kirov, along with our concertmaster and three to four other members of the orchestra.
The Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to modify audition dates, times, repertoire requirements, and procedures. Applicants are encouraged to check this page regularly for the most up-to-date information.
