Meet Eunice Kim
A young artist with a unique voice, the Astral Artists National Competition winner Eunice Kim is proclaimed “just superb” by The New York Times. A San Francisco Bay Area native, she has been soloist with The Philadelphia Orchestra, Louisville Symphony, and the Seongnam Philharmonic, among many others. With the Albany Symphony Orchestra, she recorded George Tsontakis’s Unforgettable (Naxos Records). She is a featured soloist with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, performing concertos of Saint-Saëns, Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Piazzolla, and has premiered concertos written for her at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music. Kim made her solo debut at the age of seven with the Korean Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra.
Her distinguished appearances include Carnegie’s Zankel Hall, the United Nations, the American Academy in Berlin, the Kennedy Center, and on tour throughout the United States. With Curtis on Tour, she has performed in Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Germany. At the Library of Congress, she was invited to perform on the “Ward” Stradivarius in the Library’s acclaimed collection. Her commitment to chamber music has also been heard at Ravinia’s Steans Institute of Music, and festivals including Music@Menlo, Music From Angel Fire, and the Aspen Music Festival.
Ms. Kim has performed and taught at numerous international music festivals, including Teatro Del Lago Festival in Chile, Valdres Music Academy in Norway as well as with the Philadelphia Orchestra Department of Education.
Ms. Kim studied with Ida Kavafian at the Curtis Institute of Music, where she received the Rose Paul Fellowship.
