About The Planets Live

The Planets Live is a visual accompaniment to The Planets by Gustav Holst, featuring original animations and NASA media cued live to follow the conductor—no click track required. The visuals evolve bar by bar, faithfully reflecting the spirit of each movement while Holst’s music remains at the center.

The premiere sold-out performance took place in 2014 with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra. Since then, The Planets Live has been presented by orchestras across the U.S. and abroad, including the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Bath Philharmonia in the UK, the Colorado Music Festival, and The Florida Orchestra. The project continues to be updated with the latest imagery from NASA.
