Appreciated Stocks or Securities
By appreciated stocks or securities, you can take advantage of a potential double tax benefit. Not only can you deduct the full market value of the asset, but you could also avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation. This method often allows you to give more without affecting your cash flow or selling and paying taxes on your investments.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
QCDs can be great opportunities for donors who are 70½ or older to transfer up to $100,000 annually from your IRA directly to a qualified charity like BSO. These donations can count towards your required minimum distribution, and they are not subject to federal income tax, potentially lowering your income and taxes.
Grants from Donor-Advised Funds
If you have a donor-advised fund, please consider a grant to the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra. We are the proud beneficiaries of grants through donor advised funds at the Kern Community Foundation, Fidelity, and Vanguard. All are welcome.
Each of these methods is not only a significant way to support BSO's mission but can also provide you with tax advantages.

Become a Concert Sponsor
Give incentive in the office! Concert Sponsors are given a limited number of complimentary concert tickets. Donations directly support our concert programming and our generous supporters are highlighted in our concert programs and on our website.
Partner in Education
BSO has expanded to include robust education programming. The goal of these programs is to support existing music programs, as well as to provide students with a musical, cultural, and educational experience that they may not otherwise have the resources to experience.
Legacy Giving
It is easy to include a gift to BSO in your trust or will. Simply add: "I give, devise, and bequeath to the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra ___ percent (___%) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate.” or
