BSO Next
brings students from across Kern County to Symphony concerts. The goal of the program is to not only expose students to professional musical performance, but to inspire students with a broad view of art, culture, education, and their own untapped potential. This program includes access to interactive learning materials and an educational and engaging pre-concert presentation designed for students.

Young People’s Concerts
are geared specifically toward elementary school students and are attended by schools throughout the county. Programs are engaging and interactive, and the Symphony provides quality lesson plans that teachers can utilize in the weeks leading up to the performance.

Kids Discover Music

Pre-K-6th Grade ♩ Currently Seeking Sponsorship

Kids Discover Music
sends a group of BSO musicians into schools to present a program to elementary school students. The program serves to expose students to live music, as well as educate students about the different instruments and the orchestra as a whole, and gives students a chance to interact with and ask questions of Symphony musicians.

Master Class

Seeking Sponsorship for 2024/45 Season

BSO contracts with our guest artists to hold a Master Class for music students. This project allows students the rare opportunity to participate in a hands-on lesson from world-class musicians. Through sponsorships, this project remains free of charge to participants.

Pre-concert and post-concert learning materials are provided for BSO’s Young People’s Concerts and BSO Next education programs. Register your students to receive the materials directly!

Stay tuned for year-round music lessons that are appropriate for a wide range of age levels that include follow-up questions and activities and can be used throughout the school year!
