Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra

Experience the Magic of Living Music!

The Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra’s mission is to provide the best possible performances of great music for the widest possible audience, and provide musical education for the young people of Kern County. The orchestra is a professional orchestra consisting of 60 to 80 members, 70% of whom reside and work in Bakersfield.

The 2014-2015 season will be unlike any the BSO audience has ever experienced. With six conductor candidates and world class soloists, we are all in for an incredible season.  During this season you will also have the opportunity to help choose our next conductor by providing your feedback after each concert. Your opinion is important to us!
