BSO NEXT is a donor-based endeavor that allows students from all over Kern County to experience live symphonic music by providing them with a pre-concert meet and greet with the conductor and musicians, concert admission, and a snack. Our hope is that such exposure will inspire future musicians and concertgoers and develop the next generation’s appreciation for symphonic music. Now in its third year, BSO NEXT has benefited thousands of students from local schools and created a palpable vibe of youth and excitement for our audience.
“When I grow up, I want to be a conductor. He is awesome!”
“This is a night I will always remember.”
Over 1700 concert tickets have been distributed for the 2016-2017 season. The feedback from attending students and educators groups has been that the students appreciate and are grateful for the experience of attending live classical music concerts.
“My students cannot stop talking about the performance and have been proudly showing off their autographed programs” -Daniel Hernandez, Music Director at Paul L. Cato Middle School
We have more students desiring to be a part of this program than we have donors. We invite you to participate in this rare giving opportunity which allows you to directly invest in our local youth, observe the results for yourself, and connect the next generation to the BSO experience. For more information or to become a sponsor, please contact Cynthia Smizer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
