The orchestra launches the season with two sonorous marvels, the Roman Carnival Overture of Hector Berlioz, followed by Claude Debussy’s La Mer, a multi-hued portrait of the sea. Then what has become a favorite Bakersfield special event: the most recent gold-medal winner of the acclaimed Van Cliburn Piano Competition presents Tchaikowsky, Piano Concerto No. 1, Op.23. Bravo!
